NLC VALUES

WE BELIEVE IN BIBLICAL AUTHORITY

God has spoken to us throughout the Bible and we recognize it as the final authority.

II TIMOTHY 3:16-17

WE ARE UNIFIED

New Life Chapel is built upon the vision God gave to Pastor Lonnie. We will passionately defend that vision and our unity.

Ephesians 4:1-3

WE ARE BUILT ON TRUST

We Trust God. We trust our pastors. We trust our leaders. We trust one another.

Joshua 1

WE PURSUE EXCELLENCE

Excellence honors God and inspires people! We aim for 5-Star Service in every area of New Life Chapel.

We give God our best and seek excellence in all that we do.

Colossians 3:23-24

WE CELEBRATE MOVEMENT

We are liquid in method: We value a church atmosphere and attitude that is willing to risk changing our methods to reach our culture. We believe our role is to create environments that are conducive to the work of the Holy Spirit in the hearts of people. A relevant environment combined with competent leadership will allow us to connect with our audience.

I Corinthians 9:19-23

WE ARE CONTRIBUTORS, NOT CONSUMERS

God wants everyone to have a sense of belonging and importance. He helps us connect with our God-given gifts and divine purpose through the local church. So, we look for a way to get everyone involved in using their gifts in the church as we all help people "get it."

Ephesians 4:11-16

WE ARE A GLOCAL CHURCH

There is a Global and Local Calling for New Life Chapel! We all have a platform. We believe that all believers have the responsibility of carrying out the great commission in their sphere of influence and to the ends of the world.

Acts 1:8

WE STRIVE TO BUILD A MULTI-GENERATIONAL LEGACY

Every generation is important. We will pass along the knowledge, skills, and opportunities that have been entrusted to us. We honor those of age and the wisdom they possess. We also recognize God is pouring out His Spirit on young people in these days. Our church is multi-generational and we endeavor to provide ministries to strengthen the whole family.

Exodus 18:1-23; Acts 2:17-18

WE ARE BUILDING A MOVEMENT, NOT A MONUMENT

We take God, His Word, His Church and the Great Commission seriously. We are focused on continual growth, reaching people for Christ and expanding our influence for the gospel. We will let the unchurched population determine our growth.

Acts 12:24

WE WANT TO SEE THE LOST GET SAVED AND THE SAVED GET VICTORY

When people far from God realize that God loves and forgives them; they want to get saved. When saved people realize that because of Jesus and the power of His Word, God accepts and approves of them, they get victory in life.

Matthew 28:18-20

Our Core Beliefs

These beliefs are items we will not compromise on. They are the compass that points us in the right direction. The methods we use may change, but our message will remain constant.

In the essentials we show unity: in the non-essentials we show liberty in all.

Only One Living and True God

There is only one living and true God. There are three persons in the Godhead: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is totally and completely holy. Genesis 1:2, 27; Matthew 28:19; I John 5:7

Inspired Word of God

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20, 21

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ, conceived of the Virgin Mary, is the only begotten Son of the Father. Jesus was crucified, buried and rose from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as our Intercessor. Luke 1:26-33; Hebrews 7:25

Holy Spirit

With the Holy Spirit comes the power for life and service, the gifts given by the Holy Spirit are for ministry to the body of Christ. Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:6; I Corinthians 12:4-11

Salvation

We believe every person is disobedient to God’s desires and plans in varying degrees. Any disobedience to God, regardless of how large or small, is characterized as “sin”. “Sin” literally separates each person from God, which is spiritual death. Spiritual death is not God’s desire. People can be united with God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and through Him alone. Jesus died for sinners. Anyone who accepts and believes in Jesus’ death for his or her personal sins, and desires to have Him as King of their life, is forgiven for every sin. Upon this personal decision, God re-establishes a personal relationship with that person and promises eternal life. Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9-10; John 14:6). 12:23

Baptism by Immersion

We believe in water baptism by immersion in water in the name of the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 3:11; Matthew 28:18-19; John 14:6

Healing

We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and prosperous lives in order to help others more effectively. Acts 3:2-12; Acts 5:15-16; James 5:14-15

Second Coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised. Acts 1:10-11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 1:7

Those Who Die Outside of Christ

We believe that our eternal destination of either heaven or hell is determined by our response to Jesus Christ. Daniel 12:2; Matthew 25:46, John 5:29; Jude 1:7

Sacredness of Marriage

We believe in the sacredness of marriage and family commitment. We promote strong family values.
Ephesians 5:31-33; Ephesians 6:1-4; Hebrews 13:4
